Short Description ![]() | There are no written records about the time or the person who founded “St. George the martyr” monastery near by the village of Gorna Singartia – the modern town of Hadjidimovo.
The church story says that the monastery existed even before the Turks conquered the Balkan Peninsula and it was destroyed twice – once in the 14th and then in the 17th century. The restoration of the monastery began in the 1850s when the miracle working icon of St. George was found. In 1864 practically began the building of the monastery church. |
