Short Description ![]() | Tekeli was a renowned Turkish manor. Its locals, up to 1922, residents built in the centre of the town the old parish church. We do not know when it was built (probably in the 19th century), but it was renovated and expanded in approximately 1902-1903. This church was demolished in 1966 and the present one was founded. With the Asia Minor catastrophe refugees settled in the Sindos, coming from Adana in Kilikia in Asia Minor. The refugees brought from their homeland as a precious heirloom a woodcut epitaph of 1912, constructed in Jerusalem on behalf of the Greek Orthodox community of Adana. |
